It was much colder in Butler Park this week and no one stuck around to chat or eat in the park. The line of people waiting for food was shorter than usual and the volunteers less as happens with cold weather. We served 165 servings of spaghetti with meat sauce and lots of cheese. Everyone had their fill. As usual they got hard boiled eggs, pb&j sandwiches and treats galore. My Wright’s donuts were sorely missed. Pastor Cam had hot chocolate and coffee for everyone which is much appreciated as the temperature drops. Thank you to Shoppers Drug Mart for their weekly donations. Thank you to Hosanna Lutheran Church for the use of the kitchen on Friday mornings and Sunday mornings. And space for our sea can in their parking lot. We are not funded by any government organization. All funds and food are donated. Donations can be made to Hosanna Lutheran Church etransfer. Just pit HTH in the subject line. With our temperatures dropping our volunteer numbers drop as well. We are in need of people to brave the cold and serve outside on Sunday afternoons. We are in the park from 145 to around 3 when it’s really cold. Please contact me here or just show up in the park.
