Our Story

Helping the Homeless in West Edmonton started a few years ago back in August of 2021. Although Roy has been called to help with this mission since 2014. It all just started with Roy pulling a wagon filled with sandwiches to give out to those in need. He noticed the need and was grateful to have the means to help. Roy never thought that this would grow to this size. Every week for 2 years Roy and the amazing volunteers at helping the homeless serve food at Butler Park. It was never thought that it would grow to this size and demand.

Ursula

A common story of many volunteers here is that they want to help people and that is what makes them come each week.  This is very true for Ursula who found a supportive and caring community by wanting to help those in need. Ursula grew up as a poor immigrant from Poland and although has her own struggles makes a large effort to help where she can. While attending Fusion church she met Roy who asked if she wanted to get involved and a year later, she is still coming every Friday and Sunday to lend a helping hand. The people in this community have become a family.

Roy

Helping the Homeless in West Edmonton started only a few years ago and already has seen enormous demand. The first meal served down at the park were pulled pork sandwiches and served 64 people. Two years later each Sunday Roy and his team of volunteers now serve on average 240-270 hot meals, 300 bottles of water and up to 500 sandwiches. Along with food a table with clothing and hygiene product donations are given out. Every Friday morning at 9 Am volunteers will meet at Hosanna Lutheran Church to prepare the food for that coming Sunday. Many hands make light work, volunteers are always welcome and needed!
