It was a busy day in Butler Park today. We served 300 servings of beef stew with buns. As usual we had peanut butter and Jam sandwiches, hard boiled eggs and treats. There was an extra bread donation this week so people got loaves of bread as well. Pastor Cam was there serving coffee and hot chocolate to all who wanted it. Mr Wright was there handing out donuts. A favorite with people in the park. Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who show up in the park every weekend. From the people who drive the uhaul, the servers, the ones who hand out the goodie bags, and the people who do the dishes after all is finished. Special thanks this week to Shoppers Drug mart for their donations. We have a new group supporting us with bread and bun donations. Thank you to South Side Ministry Corey and Leary. Thank you Hosanna Lutheran Church who allow us to use their professional kitchen, a seacan in their parking lot for storage and their treasurer who helps with our banking. We are an organization that runs completely by donations. Donations can be made at Hosanna Lutheran Church or by etransfer on their website. Please note HTH. As always we are looking for volunteers. There are numerous times and positions available for volunteering. We need people to go to the foodbank weekly, prepare food, plan menus, make sandwiches, warm up the food on Sunday morning, serving in the park, driving the uhaul and washing roasters after serving on Sunday afternoon.
