We served full Christmas dinner in Butler Park today but had a minor disaster. Because it was forecasted to be really cold we planned to serve everything ahead of time so people didn’t have to wait in line. Problem was the serving containers got soggy when stacked. Oops won’t do that again. Still everyone got food. We served turkey, roasted potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, veggies and gravy. With cheesecake for desert. As usual there was coffee and hot chocolate for everyone. There were also mitts and toques. St Vincent de Paul gave us brand new pillows to hand out to anyone wanting one. There was also our usual pb&j sandwiches and lots of treats in the goodie bags. Thank you to our amazing cooks. They cooked turkey for 3 days in a row. And then all the other fixings. Also thank you St Vincent de Paul for the pillows. Thank you Hosanna Lutheran Church for the toques and gloves. Many were happy for them. Thank you for the use of the kitchen for 4 days in a row this week. We were blessed with donations this week from Jane, Marie, Theresa and St John the Evangelist congregation. We are completely donation driven. Not funded by any level of government. Any donations can be dropped at Hosanna Lutheran Church. And etransfers can be made via their website.
