Just to let everyone know, we in HELPING THE HOMELESS in the Westend, will accept any produce that you might have from your gardens or farms that you want to donate to us. We cook for over 300 hungry homeless friends & poor families who comes at Butler Park every Sunday to have hotmeals, sandwiches, treats , coffee, etc. There is not too many soup kitchens in the Westend for the homeless unlike in downtown. Mustard seeds open only from Monday- Thursday. So Friday , Saturday until Sunday when we come will be the only time that the poor can eat a descent hot meal. Every Fridays we cook 6-8 huge pots of hotmeals & serve them at the park on Sundays. We use 50 lbs of onions, carrots, bread, cabbage, potatoes, rice, celery, peanut butter, jams, beans or anything we have in abundance every Friday. We are not funded by any govt, organization or church. It’s all volunteer based no one is paid so all your donations goes 100% towards the food for the people. We put our money or resources together or if there’s any donations so others can eat. Any donations are sacred to us. We used them to the max & really be frugal in using it. You can also e transfer monetary donations to Hosanna Lutheran church or by cheques marked for “HTH” (helping the homeless.) Hosanna is a steward of our money donations & also gives tac receipts in our behalf. But most of all we need volunteers. This is our crucial needs right. Now. DM me for more info .
