Hello everyone. Another great day in Butler Memorial Park, +20 with a nice breeze. Main course was Beef and Vegetable Goulash we served 268 bowls, 366 Hard Boiled Eggs, 482 PBJ sandwiches, sweet treats and water for everyone along with Apple Crisp for the dessert. Oh almost forgot, our Newest Volunteer brought a container full of Bannock, The best part of the meal for many. Yes it is alot of food but when you see all the smiles and the positive thank you’s it is worth all the work. We are coming up to our 3 year mark, we have become friends with many who depend on this meal. It is great to see so many of our friends young and old coming out not just for a meal but for fellowship.
We are seeing an increase in single parents with little children, more people living in cars and vans and of course many with no place to stay, Many are desperate for some kind of shelter, we need tarps, blankets, sleeping bags any type of foam for mattress to keep out the cold. Personal hygiene products, soap and face cloths in zip lock bags, smaller towels are easier to carry. Toilet paper is on top of the list. Smaller rolls from the dollar store are easier to put into bags. Any help with the items mentioned is greatly appreciated. We also still have a need for decent walkers. We are seeing more and more seniors in desperate need of help.
If anyone would like to participate with us we will welcome you.
