Once again the HELPING THE HOMELESS GROUP has fed the over 250 struggling people who hasn’t eaten in 2 days. Blessed by such beautiful weather & lots of selfless volunteers today. Although everything was so fast, yet we got the chance to talk to some of the regulars that comes in the line up every Sunday. One young lady in her early 20’s she’s homeless & battling alcoholism always comes & gives us hugs. She’s always saying how thankful she is that we never failed in coming every Sunday with hot meals & treats. She said that she drifted away everyday, but when it comes to Sunday, HTH at Butler Park is for her like coming home where she gets love, acceptance, never been judged & like she has many moms in HTH with prepared home-cooked hot meals for her. 😪 this is why we cook, serve & give love & compassion at Butler Park. She is only one of the few who verbally expressed the many of them that are very thankful of what HTH provides. And that is because of the many hands that comes together to come with enough food to feed the hungry friends of ours.
OUR BIGGEST THANK YOU to the following who made all these possible:
1. Hosanna Lutheran Church. They have been very graceful to us in allowing us to use their beautiful AHS approved kitchen everyday. So we can plan, prep & cook for our friends at the park. Because we get zero fundings from any govt nor organization, we solely rely on the generosity of those who donate so we can continue feeding the homeless & many families with young kids that are housed but are struggling to buy food.
2. Thank you to Shopper’s drug mart Meadowlark branch who gives us lots of treats, etc. These special donations from Shoppers are such special treats to our friends at the park. Please support this store, they give back to the community.
3. St. Vincent de Paul Society. Especially Lynn, for including HTH into their map for bread run & those delicious treats from cobs bread & for our peanut butter & jam sandwiches. We make 400 sandwiches every Friday.
4. For the anonymous donors esp our cuzin from smokey lake who brings extra treats, beddings, clothing & lots of other things like sugar, flour, oats, oil, tarps, bags, hundreds of them every single week.
5. For Mr. Wright for his parks favorite the donuts.
6. For the Faith Evangelical Missionary Church who never failed in bringing coffee & juice.
7. And for our endearing volunteers. Who comes without taking, asking for anything in return. They just work , help, give the love of God & understanding to all the people at Butler Park. They are like these well oiled machines who just know what they’re doing..today we have lots of kindhearted teen agers, they are well mannered, they talk to the people, give them food with smiles & conversations who came out to help.. i cannot thank enough all the volunteers. You guys are the backbone of what we do. Esp the behind the scene workers. We are very grateful for their commitments. Thank you for reading this. May God bless you.
