The wind on Sunday afternoon was cooold this week. Still our volunteers braved the cold to feed our homeless and hungry. In under 1 hour we served 175 servings of ham and potato casserole. This week we had extras to hand out so everyone got the usual PB&J sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, treats and for those that could use it pasta, pasta sauce, canned veggies. Special thanks this week to Shoppers for the treats, second harvest for pasta and canned goods, frozen potatoes and a freezer, John for bread and soup from a group downtown. Roy for collecting blankets that are really needed when it’s cold and Joanna for baby supplies, feminine products and gloves. As always thank you to Hosanna Lutheran church for allowing us to use their kitchen and space. We are not funded through any government or private organizations. Everything we have is donated. Donations can be made to Hosanna Lutheran church. Please put HTH on the donations so they get to us. We are always looking for help. Sunday mornings warming up the food, driving a uhaul truck to get the food to the park and bringing the empties back, also Friday mornings cooking or sandwich making. And of course serving in the park. When it’s cold we get fewer volunteers.
