It was kinda breezy cold at Butler Park yesterday We served over 235 cups of hot meals the very tasty sweet & sour pork with sweet onion teriyaki sauce On a bed of rice with veggies. It was well liked & so special. Kudos to the volunteers who prepared and cooked everything. They did it for the love of the poor. The sandwich team who never failed to always do their duties. The park volunteers who work so hard out there in minus 50 or plus 50 degrees. They’re all out there feeding our poor & homeless brothers & sisters. The uhaul team. They hauling loading & unloading was tough.. we need the herculeses on this. Why do we do this? Because there are hungry people out there hasn’t eaten in 3 days. Esp in The west end area. We don’t have that much soup kitchens here unlike in downtown. The homeless brothers & sisters at Butler Park are now our friends for 4 years since Roy Fabricious founded this ministry. These are the people who were lost in the shambles of life but they found friendships, acceptance, understanding & love with HELPING THE HOMELESS GOOD SAMARITANS. We know that a bowl of hot meals will or may not changed a person’s life for better but what we know is we help that hunger pangs at the moment. The end result of that bowl of soup we will not know. And it’s not our job to know the end result. Only God can. We only planted a seed in their hearts. That HTH are their friends in Jesus. We cannot do any of these without the many kind hearted people to give thanks for their generosity. 1. All the volunteers. Self less & kind. 2. Hosanna Lutheran church. For allowing us to cook in their AHS approved kitchen & to facilitate donations with tax receipts. 3. Shoppers Drug Mart. Always supporting. Donating to us toiletries & treats. 4. L’oca grocery store and restaurant. Please support this new owner the son of former IGA who gave us for years & years bread & pastries to make our sandwiches. Now L’oca is doing the same giving back to the community. 5. The Edmonton Food Bank. Where we get mostly our eggs and meat for the weekly cooking. 6. Josie for her monetary donation this week. She never stops helping distribute the treats at the park every Sunday as well. 7. All the other donors of treats, water, secret monetary donations, and those who contributes in spreading the words for our needs. 9. To those who does all the works behind the scene. Collecting clothes, jackets, scarves etc. Delivers, picks up, and sort them & bring the to Roy’s breeze way and eventually to the park. 10. Pastor Cam who never fails to provide the hot coffee & choc drinks from Faith Evangelical.Missionary Church. Such a humble man of faith. MOST OF ALL, we thank GOD whoever you conceived him to be for this tremendous work and experience on how to be upclosed and personal with our homeless brothers & sisters. To truly love & care for them. It is easy to judge how they live, but it is wayyyy easier to just love, understand & treat them like any other person. Because those heads under a blanket or a tent, which are the only roofs over their heads , are living, breathing human beings. Their lives matters. If your hearts are touched and wants to help us, please DM me. We are in dire need of volunteers Esp those that can drive the uhaul and can help on Sunday mornings. DM me for details. Thank you for reading this. Blessings !
