It was such a marvelous perfect weather day for all at Butler Park, where the good Samaritan group called HELPING THE HOMELESS in the west end gave bowls of very delicious pasta with meat & cheese & mushroom sauce. Compliments to Joan B. Who is so selfless in cooking these delicious meals, preparing all the food ready for the park on Sundays. It was a hot meal of almost 200 cups of substantial were served. It was very well liked by the people. Plus they got enormous amount of bread, bagels, etc., canned soup, canned meat from SVDP, treats from anonymous donors & Zoey’s homemade desserts were scrumptious. And donuts given by Mr. & Mrs. Wright are popular.
This group continues to serve the poor & the homeless with all humility, gentleness, caring giving hopes, prayers & understanding. They cannot do any of these without the help of all the volunteers who are so selfless & kind. Also many thanks to or donors, the angel network for the bread for the over 400 peanut butter & jam sandwiches that we make every week, the cash donors we are very grateful to them as well otherwise we spend our own monies so others can eat because we are not funded by any govt & or org.
And Hosanna Lutheran Church for their tremendous support in allowing us to use their AHS approved kitchen so we can cook for the over 300 poor & hungry people that we served every Sunday. We are very grateful. You can also donate by cash, cheque or e- transfer via Hosanna church 9003-163 St. But please mark your Donation HTH so they will know where the funds are going. Also put your full name address & phone number if you need a receipt for income tax purposes.
You can also donate potatoes, carrots, onions, tomato sauce, peanut butter & jams, we used hundreds of pounds of these every Friday. We also accept donations like blankets & jackets & other winter gears only but not other summer clothes. With this amount of work that we do, we needed more hands to lightened up the loads. Thank you for reading this God bless you. “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brother, that you do unto me.” Says the Lord.
